| Above is the kettle. Note the rim that Edgar built into his furnace. This rim (in addition to the normal rim [upper left] that fits at the kettle flange) is slanted back toward the kettle and provides some protection against boil-over. The upper left also shows a trough covered with a cloth filter. |
