| Comments:Nedra's last visit to our farm. Seven days after the main image was taken, she had a lethal stroke. I am very glad that I did not put our trip off. Nedra became restless in rehab in Jacksonville and expressed a strong desire to go to "my house and my farm." I was driven to make that happen, so after a couple of days' rest in Tally, we went to the farm where I took these photographs. The main image was taken on the 16th Aug, 2025, the second day there & like the supplemental image, about 8 am . The supplemental image was taken the morning after we arrived. I caught her with a mouthful. :) I loved her smile; she was happy, which made me happy. (I don't remember, but it was more than likely oatmeal, which I made her almost every morning for years.) I hesitated in posting these photographs because I don't know whether she would approve. They were candid photographs; she was not well. She was suffering emotionally from her long illness; she was suffering physically; and she was frustrated and embarassed by the memory loss from her stroke of Jul 02. Notwithstanding, the period between Brooks (Jacksonville) and her lethal stroke were the best times of our 54-year marriage. Our love was as pure as driven snow. |
