| Comments:This image may or may not be related to Norton-090. This was an invitation to a dance. Non-transferrable. Admission only by card. Explicitly not related to school. Sponsored by parents. I have removed names &c to prevent discomfort. I speculate but do not know that this dance was arranged by white parents in recently integrated schools (Civil Rights Act) to provide a segregated social opportunity for their children. It was a common practice for a little while after schools were integrated. |
