James Williams (Nashville, Georgia)

James Williams lives between Ray City and Nashville, GA. He makes syrup as a means of visiting with friends, family, and church members. Slide 1, is a front view of a QFM No.14 (Quitman, Georgia). As attested to by the ground, the mill was in use a week before this photo.
 

Slides 2 and 3 are pictures of the wood furnace and 60-gallon kettle that Mr. Williams cooks in. Note that Mrs. Williams is removing the skimmings that boil over the rim with a cloth. (Most syrup makers use a small scoop.)
