Timber Talks Back (Will's dog)
Comments:Maggie--powerful, intensely loyal, beautiful to a fault, vocabulary limited to 3 words ("I adore Daddy."), reserved toward strangers, simplified the world to black and white, enjoyed slowly very slowly sneaking up into my lap so I wouldn't notice, took advantage of my affection for her, would like to have been a world traveler, added new meaning to stoic, loved persimmons as well as I (and was laid to rest between two trees), mourned pitifully by Timber, who adopted Maggie as soon as Maggie joined us.

Timber--also powerful, thought through the pros/cons of loyalty in context, made up for her looks in intelligence and forethought, lots of soul, maintained an interest in her surroundings until the end, independent and argumentative, earned the nickname "Slouch," protective of her food bowl, enjoyed foraging, content without moving more 200 ft from her porch, interpreted guineas as gourmet food that we supplied for her personal pleasure, pretty good coach for my exercise.

Main--Timber, Maggie, and "Jen," an exchange student from Canada.
Suppl A--photo of Maggie alone.
